UK caught spying in Russia

No doubt MI6 will be embarrassed by this one. To be caught red-handed in Moscow with a Russian agent is bad enough, but to be caught communicating classified information to a rock must be quite insane.

It appears that MI6 is using British diplomats to spy on Russia and cause discontent through their support for NGOs (non-governmental organisations), such as charities - as reported in The Independent online.

The rock was only artificial, but it seems to have contained some sophisticated technology. We shall have to wait to see whether this story is true or not, but it does appear likely that MI6 is continuing to spy on its old cold-war opponent.

It just makes a mockery of the outcry there is when a Russian is found spying in London - if both sides are spying on each other, then who is the pot calling the kettle black.
