Barzan Al-Tikriti murdered by American Iraqi Justice

There have been plenty of reports about the show trials that have occurred in Iraq under the regime supported by the USA. Whoever is responsible for Justice in an occupied country, one thing for certain is that the conquerors have a responsibility for what happens under such a regime.

Below is one of the last letters written by Barzan Al-Tikriti before he was executed. In his desperate efforts to save his life, Mr Al-Tikriti stresses that he was not responsible for the deaths of those for which he was on trial. The arguments he makes seem very simple, and it becomes apparent that he was executed for political rather than legal reasons.

There have been some outraged complaints about this execution. Why do the USA authorities in Iraq turn a blind eye to such abuses?

The letter below was kindly supplied to me by Giovanni di Stefano.
